PRAYERS – Please pray for all the sick and
hospitalized in our parish community including, Patrick
Hanley, Bill Webber, Jeanne Vanni, Tom Potenza, Bill
Surette, Timmy O’Connell, Margaret Fyrberg, Gena
Monfalcone, Margaret Rossi, Mamie Perreault, and for
infant Bobbie Endelin. Please also pray for Charles
Murphy who has passed away; may he rest in peace. Pray
for Marie Fiddler, mother of Mary Ellen Bettinelli, who
has passed away. Our sympathy goes out to the
Bettinelli family along with our thanks for a vestment
that was dedicated to Marie and given to St. Matthews in
her memory.

Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As
the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he
had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,
"Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are
forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are
retained." - John 20:21-23
Happy
Mother’s Day
We have a
special blessing for the mothers of our parish at
all Masses this weekend. Likewise, our mothers both
living and deceased will be remembered in a Novena
of Masses.
May God bless
our mothers.
A Prayer for Mothers
|
God our Creator, we
pray:
For new mothers, coming to terms with new
responsibility;
For expectant mothers, wondering and
waiting;
For those who are tired, stressed or
depressed;
For those who struggle to balance the tasks
of work and family;
For those who are unable to feed their
children due to poverty;
For those whose children have physical,
mental or emotional disabilities;
For those who have children they do not
want;
For those who raise children on their own;
For those who have lost a child;
For those who care for the children of
others;
For those whose children have left home;
And for those whose desire to be a mother
has not been fulfilled.
Bless all mothers, that their love may be
deep and tender,
And that they may lead their children to
know and do what is good, living not for
themselves alone, but for God and for
others.
Amen |

Southborough
Parishes Survey
May we have a moment of your
time? It’s important! You will shortly be
receiving a letter and survey form in the mail. We are
asking for your assistance at this important time in the
history of the Southborough Catholic Parishes. Our
Bishop has encouraged us to search for ways to work
together as the Catholic Church faces a shortage of
priests and included in that is the potential for the
merging of our parishes. As a result, the parishes of
St. Anne and St. Matthew have been in conversation for
some time about combining our collective resources to
form a single parish and to build a new church in
Southborough. Both Parishes are vibrant communities and
we believe that our parishioners would greatly benefit
from the strengths of each parish. A combined Catholic
parish in Southborough would provide us with many new
options and services, and we also believe it would be
the best use of both human and economic resources for
our future. The brief survey will help us better
understand your insights for your church of tomorrow.
If you have any questions or do not receive a copy of
the survey form, please contact Fr. Flynn at the parish
office 508-485-2285. A link to the survey has been
posted on both parish websites; if you would like to
complete the survey electronically go to:
www.stmatthewcatholic-southboro.org. The survey
responses are due by June 8, 2008. Thank you.
